Carey NOTES:: I was not happy with the vinyl artifacts on this fantastic recording, so endeavored to clean it up with a minimum of editing. Some pops were eliminated with Sony Noise Reduction plug-in, some with the vinyl restoration tool, and others by hand with the pencil tool. The taped air-check portion was given a mild noise reduction. Very small portions of dead air were eliminated and cross-faded. I re-tracked to split out the longer spoken parts. The story about the origins of Circle Game and Neil Young is terrific. According to Etree, the first 13 tracks constitute the portion of the show which was broadcast by the BBC. This was corraborated by the James Taylor site, which lists two known bootlegs of that portion. The remaining tracks, which may vary from source to source, have been tacked on from other sources by whoever compiled the collection. This seed listed "The Good Samaritan" as included in the filler, but it either evaporated in transit or the uploader flurbed. I don't know how this particular edit stacks up against others, but it's an improvement over the seed I started with...hope you like it. aolong (fursink@gmail.com) March 2006.
